Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Hospital Security Officer to perform day-to-day protection and security of hospital assets and people. You will conduct internal and external patrols, respond to calls, and document incidents in accordance with department policies.

The role emphasizes de-escalation and customer service in a busy hospital setting. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and within one year of hire, IAHSS Basic certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid state issued driver’s license is required.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic public safety and security duties, patrol facilities and respond to routine and emergency calls.
• Provide escorts to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify safety hazards and report deficiencies for follow-up and resolution.
• Maintain orderly access control and ensure identification badges are visible.

Education

Associates degree in Criminal Justice or related area
