Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking Public Safety Officers to protect hospital assets and ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Roles include regular patrols, incident reporting, and assisting with emergencies across Tufts Medical Center campuses.

The team supports de-escalation, customer service, and professional communication. Shifts include day, evening, and overnight with full-time and part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver’s license.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic public safety and security duties across hospital facilities.
• Provide escorts to patients, visitors, staff and others.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and take corrective action with other departments.
• Maintain hospital ID badge visibility and restrict access to unauthorized persons.
• Respond to emergencies and document incidents with official reports.
• Assist with investigations, interviews, and evidence handling.
• Participate in trainings and maintain professional conduct.
