Job summary

Kettering Health Troy is seeking an Environmental Service Worker II to support cleaning, safety, and patient-care environments in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include following safety guidelines, cleaning designated areas, and documenting daily tasks.

The role requires at least 1 year in housekeeping or service-related work, ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and proficiency with basic electronic devices. Strong customer service and professional conduct are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of housekeeping and/or service-related field experience.
• Able to lift/push/pull 10–25 lbs daily.
• Knowledge of electronic devices (computer, tablets, etc.).
• Ability to read, write, communicate and understand written English.

Responsibilities

• Follow verbal and written safety guidelines.
• Perform required cleaning functions for designated work area.
• Document all daily assignments.
• Flexibility due to schedule changes or staff shortages.
• Demonstrate proper use of PPE in all aspects of the job.
• Report any equipment issues to the appropriate person or department.
• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Record keeping and equipment storage.
• Handle regular and hazardous waste and operate related equipment.
• Clean sterile areas such as operating rooms and MRI areas.
• Deliver supplies to the correct location.
• Operate laundry equipment and change curtains.
• Perform various utility duties as assigned.
