Job summary

WellStar Health System is seeking a Housekeeper – Environmental Services Technician for the Evening shift. This PRN as needed role supports cleaning in hospital areas, including patient rooms and suites, with emphasis on safety and patient comfort.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of required certifications. Excellent customer service and adherence to infection prevention protocols are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Fluent reading, writing and comprehension of English for instructions and safety protocols.
• Complete departmental training within 30 days of employment.
• High School Diploma or GED required; certifications may be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of restroom and patient room cleaning following hospital protocols.
• Follow infection prevention protocols and select appropriate chemicals for tasks.
• Use PPE properly and follow lifting techniques for safety.
• Dispose of waste, recyclables, and regulated materials according to guidelines.
• Document daily assignments and patient flow using the hospital system (Epic).
• Provide courteous customer service to staff, patients and visitors.
