Job summary

DHR Health in Texas is seeking an Environmental Services Housekeeper for the evening shift to maintain clean, sanitary hospital areas and support patient care. You will follow safety, infection control, and facility policies while providing courteous service to patients and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred), English literacy, and 1–6 months of related experience. Cross-training and flexible duties may be required to meet hospital needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
• 1–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values to others.
• Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas and common spaces.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilizes appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Maintains and uses equipment properly.
• Assists visitors with directions and info, and introduces self to patients and staff.
• Follows infection control practices and safety guidelines.
