Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an Environmental Services Associate for Elkins Park, PA. This full-time evening shift role requires maintaining a sanitary, orderly, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas, disposing of biohazards per EPA/OSHA, and assisting with moves, recycling, and supplies. 6 months to 1 year healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Aids in maintaining a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment.
• Performs cleaning in assigned areas following schedules and methods.
• Disposes biohazards according to EPA and OSHA codes and regulations; handles disposal of environmental contaminants.
• Maintains equipment, clean carts, buckets, floor machines, and supply closets to keep a professional hospital appearance.
• Follows PPE requirements and hand hygiene policies to ensure staff safety.
• Completes carpet and hard surface flooring maintenance according to procedures.
• Assists with moves, recycling, deliveries, and trash removal as needed.
• Responds to pages or calls promptly and assists supervisor with requested duties.
