Job summary

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. The essential duties include cleaning nursing units and patient rooms, restocking carts, and handling bio-hazard materials according to policy. Hours are 3:30PM - 11:30PM, including every other weekend.

Starting rate is $18.50/hr. Qualified candidates will have a HS Diploma or GED, English proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50 lbs.
Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
1 year terminal cleaning and discharges (patient room cleaning) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean nursing units, patients' rooms and all designated areas.
Follows department policies on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
Cleans up major spills and responds to pages promptly.
Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at end of shift.
Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
Follows directions for cleaning solution prep and handling bio-hazard materials.
Performs periodic checks for environmental needs and reports repairs to maintenance.
