Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation in Boston-based Mass General Brigham system seeks a dedicated facilities cleaner to maintain safety and cleanliness across the hospital environment. The role is onsite at 100 Cambridge Street with an evening shift and a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, dusting, waste disposal, setting up for events and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–3 years experience with hospital cleaning equipment.
• Strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass.
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies as needed.
• Picks up debris around the building.
• Operates and controls high- and low-speed stripping/buffing machines.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal hospital activities.
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
