Job summary

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply chemicals safely.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient care and non-patient care areas in accordance with hospital policies, established schedules, and infection prevention guidelines.
• Maintain assigned areas in a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized condition at all times.
• Collect, transport, and properly dispose of waste, including regulated medical waste, following established safety procedures.
• Clean and service assigned departments using approved cleaning methods and products.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support daily hospital operations and cleaning activities.
• Operate environmental services equipment, including floor machines, buffers, and other cleaning equipment, safely and effectively.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in a minimum of eight departmental or unit meetings annually.
• Work collaboratively with team members and hospital staff to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and patient satisfaction.
