Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an entry-level High-Level Disinfection (HLD) Technician I to assist in decontamination, prep, sterilization, and storage of instruments across the facility.

You will work with preceptors to learn and independently perform core reprocessing duties, including receiving, inspecting, and decontaminating procedural instrumentation, while documenting all steps in the tracking system. Shift runs 11:00am–7:30pm with call coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Endoscope reprocessing certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs; frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and converse in English.

Responsabilités

• Dons and doffs PPE as required by standards.
• Communicates supply needs within decontamination area.
• Performs routine tests on mechanical equipment for compliance.
• Receives soiled or new equipment and documents receipt in tracking system.
• Disassembles equipment as necessary for cleaning.
• Identifies repair needs and relays to supervisor/lead technician.
• Applies appropriate reprocessing method and test strips.
• Cleans and disinfects workstation and equipment.
• Documents tasks via instrument tracking system.
• Loads items into drying cabinets and monitors sterilization cycles.
