Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Transport Coordinator to coordinate efficient patient transport within the dispatch center. You will handle transport requests, schedule ambassadors, and use the electronic tracking system to monitor patient flow.

The role requires strong organization and communication, knowledge of lean processes, and the ability to interact with patients, families and staff to ensure smooth wheelchair van and on-site transports. Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11pm.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience using electronic tracking systems for transport coordination.
• Familiarity with lean processes to reduce waste and optimize flow.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple transport requests.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming transport requests and relay information to appropriate personnel.
• Schedule wheelchair van transportation to support discharges and appointments.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient transports to optimize flow and reduce wait times.
• Document all requests accurately in the tracking system.
• Support onsite transports and cross-train for patient movement tasks.
