UW Medical Center-Montlake in Seattle is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator for the Evening shift. This 80% FTE role supports busy oncology units with multi-tasking, phones, triage, and coordination of discharge planning.

You will work closely with the charge RN to manage patient flow, prepare discharge packets, and maintain unit organization. Strong communication and administrative skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.

Responsabilidades

• Thrive in a busy, fast-paced unit with multitasking and strong organizational skills.
• Provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient communications system, including answering phones and triaging call lights.
• Respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner.
• Maintain a welcoming and organized unit environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Coordinate patient flow with the charge RN, including admits, transfers, and discharges.
• Prepare discharge packets to support timely and safe patient discharges.
• Coordinate transportation and paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing.
• Handle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and documentation.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and restock; use Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination.
• Partner with care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
