Job summary

Hayden Industrial, Claremore, Oklahoma, is seeking a Hairpin Machine Operator to operate a hairpin-forming machine for 3/8-inch copper tubing. The role focuses on producing precise parts while maintaining quality and safety in a metal fabrication environment.

You will set up and adjust the machine, perform changeovers, inspect outputs with calipers, and report issues promptly. This is a full-time position with standard production hours and required PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing or machine-operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and measurements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Experience with copper tubing or soft metals preferred.
• Lean manufacturing or 5S practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor the hairpin machine used for cutting and bending 3/8” copper tube.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve required lengths and bend angles.
• Perform changeovers and tooling adjustments as needed.
• Inspect tubing for correct dimensions, bend accuracy, and surface quality.
• Use calipers, gauges, and measuring tools to verify part specifications.
• Identify defects or machine inconsistencies and take corrective action.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report mechanical issues to maintenance or supervision promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE and lock-out/tag-out when necessary.
• Meet daily production quotas while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Record production output, scrap, and downtime in logs or digital systems.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
