Job summary

Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Hairpin Machine Operator in Claremore, Oklahoma. You will set up and run a hairpin forming machine to shape 3/8-inch copper tubing, ensuring precise lengths and bend angles while upholding quality standards.

The role requires reading work orders and drawings, maintaining equipment, and performing routine maintenance. You will work in a non-temperature controlled shop with PPE and safety protocols, with a 3:30

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing or machine-operation experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and measurements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Experience working with copper tubing or soft metals preferred.
• HVAC, refrigeration, or heat-exchanger manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor the hairpin machine used for cutting and bending 3/8” copper tube.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve required lengths, bend angles, and production specifications.
• Perform changeovers and tooling adjustments as needed.
• Inspect tubing for correct dimensions, bend accuracy, and surface quality.
• Use calipers, gauges, and measuring tools to verify part specifications.
• Identify defects or machine inconsistencies and take corrective action.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report mechanical issues to maintenance or supervision promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE requirements and lock-out/tag-out when necessary.
• Meet daily production quotas while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Record production output, scrap, and downtime in logs or digital systems.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance.
