Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County in Toms River, New Jersey, seeks an Assistant Group Home Manager to oversee evening operations and support residents in a 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour, with differential and overtime opportunities, and bi-weekly pay.

You will lead Direct Support Professionals, manage schedules, and ensure respectful, person-centered services while coordinating with the Residential Program Manager. Growth and training are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience supporting individuals with IDD in a residential setting.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five (5) points.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to motivate staff while maintaining a person-centered environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and adjust schedules based on program needs.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including assisting individuals with mobility and other daily support needs.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Direct Support Professionals in evening operations.
• Coordinate staff schedules and shift coverage.
• Support individuals with daily living skills and community activities.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with administrative tasks and documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and family communication.
