Job summary

Collington, a Kendal Affiliate on a 125-acre campus in Mitchellville, Maryland, seeks a Geriatric Nursing Assistant for the Evening shift. The role provides direct resident care, follows physician orders, and supports rehabilitative and social goals within an inter-disciplinary team.

Qualifications include a State-approved GNA training, State registry, and 6 months in long-term care. Salary ranges from $17 to $19 per hour, with full benefits and a comprehensive program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better required.
• Successful completion of a State-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program.
• Registration with State registry required.
• 6 months experience in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Receives a formal verbal report of residents' status at shift start and gives reports during end-of-shift replacement.
• Charts vital signs, input/output, and weight as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Assists and trains residents with personal grooming/hygiene, including bladder training and toileting.
• Follows all individualized care plans and prescribed activities and treatments.
• Maintains residents' rooms and belongings clean and organized; communicates changes to the team.
• Maintains professional interaction with residents, families, staff and outside agencies.
• Keeps informed on care plans, daily activities, progress and problems; supports team communication.
• Participates in education sessions regularly.
• Responds to fire alarms and emergencies, offering safety and support to residents.
• Performs duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse within skill level and training.
