Job summary

The Missouri Botanical Garden is seeking a customer-facing team member to greet visitors and maintain clean, welcoming spaces. You will interact with Garden staff, visitors, vendors, and donors while performing general housekeeping duties and supporting event setups.

You will learn procedures during paid training and must stay alert, courteous, and professional under public observation, including lifting tasks and temperature changes, while ensuring safety and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Be willing to learn new procedures.
• Present a professional attitude at all times under the scrutiny of the general public.
• Meet productivity standards.
• Ability to read instructions and to understand the label on cleaning products.
• Ability to multitask in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 30-60 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to work in varying temperatures and all-weather conditions.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform general daily housekeeping duties
• Event Set-up duties require setting up tables, chairs
• Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to visitors and employees at all times
• Ensure that all recycled compost and landfill materials are placed in the correct containers
• Reports all accidents, injuries, and near-miss accidents immediately to your supervisor
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing surfaces, emptying trash, and other duties as assigned
