Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate motorized and manual equipment, verify freight documentation, and secure loads for safe trailer transfer.

Responsibilities include assisting customers with freight, completing required paperwork, and performing hostling duties as needed. This role requires basic math, reliability, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, and to open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift force.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
