Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is hiring for a dock/warehouse position responsible for transporting freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. The role involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move freight efficiently.

Responsibilities include verifying freight documentation, securing loads inside trailers, recouping damaged freight, and completing reports. Candidates should have a HS diploma, be 18+, and prefer prior warehousing or forklift experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to around 100 lbs and dock plates ~75 lbs, multiple times daily.

Responsibilities

• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
