Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to move freight between trailers and the dock area. You will operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, verify shipment details, and secure loads for transport.

The role requires basic math, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dock environment. Full-time hours with varied shifts; incumbents may assist customers and perform hostling duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documents match description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
