Job summary

Scholastic is seeking a full-time Warehouse Forklift / Cherry Picker Operator for the 2nd shift in Roselle, IL. You will operate battery-powered and gas-powered equipment, including forklifts and stock pickers, to move product between storage locations while maintaining safety and inventory accuracy.

The role requires adherence to OSHA and PPE guidelines, plus strong teamwork and basic math and reading skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be trained and licensed to operate power equipment.
• Minimum 1 year power equipment operation experience for non-internal promotions.
• Requires satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
• Ability to demonstrate basic scanner proficiency with minimal errors.
• Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers.
• Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and related equipment for transporting product within the facility.
• Follow all safety rules and OSHA regulations, and use PPE.
• Perform cycle-counts and inventory replenishment, and ensure accurate inventory movement.
• Stack product neatly and safely, maintain neat work area, and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist in loading/unloading trucks and seasonal inventory resets.
