Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems in Georgia is seeking an Evening Shift Floor Technician / Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean and safe healthcare environment. You will perform floor care, cleaning of patient rooms and common areas, and waste management following infection prevention standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and prior environmental services or custodial experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in environmental services or housekeeping is preferred.
Ability to read, write, and understand basic English.

Responsibilities

Perform floor care duties including stripping, refinishing, buffing, and carpet maintenance.
Clean patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, walls, windows, and other assigned spaces.
Follow established protocols for regular, terminal, and isolation room cleaning.
Properly collect, transport, and dispose of waste, including biohazard, chemotherapy, pharmaceutical, and other regulated waste streams.
Operate and maintain floor care equipment and UV disinfection devices.
Stock supplies and report equipment issues or shortages.
Follow infection prevention guidelines and use appropriate cleaning chemicals and PPE.
Assist with emergency spill cleanup and special cleaning projects as assigned.
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
