Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Nursing Resource Pool. This float pool position supports 20+ inpatient units, providing assistive care under nursing supervision.

Evening shifts (3:00PM - 11:00PM) with every-other weekend and rotating holidays are required. Requirements include a high school diploma, active Texas CNA license, BLS, and at least two years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Active Texas CNA license
• BLS from American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years in inpatient/acute care setting
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene and comfort
• Perform 1:1 observation for agitated or at-risk patients
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition
• Float to different inpatient units each shift as needed
• Document care activities promptly and accurately
