Job summary

UI Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Staff Nurse I for the Float Team MS/Tele with an evenings shift. This 0.6 FTE position provides direct patient care within the MS/Telemetry units and participates in care coordination under the NRO Float Team. Illinois residency is required within 180 days of hire.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice,Shared Leadership, and collaboration with the health care team to improve patient outcomes and educational planning for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active IL Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS/CPR certification must be current.
• Minimum 2 years stepdown/telemetry experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health records is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates patient care plans based on ongoing assessment and family input.
• Collaborates with the health care team to promote effective patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders from physicians and documents in the EHR.
• Engages patients and families to develop appropriate educational plans.
• Assists and supports staff and students; participates in shared leadership activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned and supports department goals.
