Job summary

University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health) in Chicago, IL seeks a Staff Nurse I for the NRO Float Team. This 0.9 FTE position offers flex night shifts, 7p-7:30a, with rotating weekends, and a patient-centered practice emphasis in a collaborative health system.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering nursing care, collaboration with the health care team, and acting as a preceptor when needed. UI Health supports ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
• RN degree (diploma/degree) completed.
• Current BLS/CPR certification and any unit-specific certifications.
• ACLS certification current or within 6 months of hire for main hospital.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates patient care plans based on ongoing assessment.
• Collaborates with health care team to ensure quality patient care.
• Verifies physician orders and documents in the EHR.
• Engages patients and families to tailor educational plans.
• Assists with charge nurse duties when assigned.
• Precepts and mentors staff and students.
