Job summary

Villa Maria Academy, a Catholic college preparatory school for girls, seeks a part‑time evening Facilities Technician. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance, grounds upkeep, and event setup to uphold campus safety and appearance.

Responsibilities include ticket‑driven work, coordination with the Facilities Directors, and general repairs across multiple trades. Must lift 50 lbs, possess a valid driver’s license, and obtain required background clearances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years hands‑on experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical trades.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and core trades including plumbing, electrical fixtures, and HVAC maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver's license and safe operation of school vehicles.
• Clearances required for employment in an educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Ticket system management: promptly execute work requests from the campus maintenance ticket system.
• Provide direct operational support to the Director of Facilities, Campus Operations, and school leadership.
• Perform general facilities maintenance: carpentry, painting, masonry, mounting fixtures, hanging items, and minor cleaning.
• Assist with event setups, staging, and breakdowns for school events and activities.
• Inspect, service, and monitor HVAC systems and boilers, including changing filters and belts.
• Provide hands‑on maintenance and repair across electrical, lighting, and plumbing fixtures and infrastructure.
• Support grounds maintenance including mulching, planting, and seasonal snow removal.
• Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools; ensure safe operation and routine inspections.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administration.
