Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Building/Grounds Attendant for the 5:00pm–2:00am shift. Responsibilities include repairs and minor preventive maintenance, cleaning, room setups, snow removal, and janitorial duties around facilities.

Qualifications

High school plus one year commercial trades/maintenance experience or equivalency.
General knowledge in a variety of skilled trades areas including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios.
Experience must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Repairs and performs minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
Performs a variety of duties in and around buildings and grounds.
Light bulb change and fixture and equipment cleaning; painting and carpentry: assists maintenance personnel and other workers with tasks or projects.
Perform building snow removal as required.
Performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, restrooms and public areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Mixes cleaning solutions to appropriate strength.
Removes trash from offices and lobby areas.
Perform room setups and strikes.
Follows established routine.
