Job summary

The City of Grand Haven is seeking a part-time custodian/maintenance assistant for Central Park Place. Under supervision, you will keep spaces clean, safe, and functioning, and assist with minor repairs and event setup.

You will interact with facility users, maintain records, coordinate with contractors, and perform preventive maintenance. The schedule averages 20 hours per week, with weekday evenings and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Prior custodial or building maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain facilities: sweeping, mopping, dusting, restrooms, windows, carpets.
• Perform minor repairs (light bulbs, painting, patching walls).
• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs or maintenance.
• Maintain exterior areas and parking lots; snow removal as needed.
• Monitor security systems and ensure clear emergency exits.
