Job summary

State Center Community College District is seeking an evening custodian to clean, sanitize and maintain classrooms, restrooms, offices and common areas. You will prepare rooms for events, handle basic floor care, and report issues as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of custodial experience, with an emphasis on safety and efficient cleaning practices. Candidates should be able to lift, stand for long periods and work with PPE.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED; or equivalent training and experience.
• One year of custodial work experience preferred.
• Ability to follow safety policies and use PPE.
• Basic English communication and basic math.
• Basic computer operations.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, sanitizes and restocks restrooms.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets.
• Prepares classrooms and facilities for events and regular use; moves desks and furniture.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and metalwork.
• Cleans windows, doors, walls and ceilings.
• Maintains hallways and common areas safety.
• Gathers and disposes of rubbish and debris.
• Pressure washes buildings and outdoor areas.
• Changes light bulbs as needed.
• Opens/closes buildings and turns off alarms.
• Maintains cleaning supplies and reports work orders.
