Job summary

The Southwestern Community College District is seeking a Custodian to maintain buildings, furniture and equipment in a clean, safe and secure condition during day or evening hours. The role includes assisting maintenance staff and delivering supplies with a district vehicle.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and at least two years of custodial experience, with the ability to perform heavy physical labor and follow established safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school AND two (2) years’ experience as a custodian.
• Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement.
• Applicants with foreign degrees must have coursework evaluated by a NACES member and submit the evaluation with the online application.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store custodial stock and supply items; check supply deliveries and verify accuracy.
• Process custodial supply requests and drive a District vehicle to deliver materials and supplies to off-campus sites.
• Repair and maintain custodial equipment for distribution.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, wax and buff floors; vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets; operate floor cleaning equipment.
• Clean and disinfect lavatories and fixtures; wash windows; dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
