Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a STEPS Facilities Assistant to support daily operations in a 210,000 sq ft building in Lexington, KY. The role involves maintaining records, updating space databases, and coordinating with facilities and security teams to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The position is temporary and part-time, with a schedule from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with some weekends and daytime hours as needed. Prior education is not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed records in Excel spreadsheets and in-house software for space inventory and furniture tracking.
• Update annual space database by touring the building and verifying occupants.
• Enter or edit data in university and college space database systems.
• Tour the facility to identify maintenance needs and track work requests in the Facilities management system.
• Coordinate with security to ensure building and occupant safety during after-hours.
• Assist with furniture moves and stocking classrooms and conference rooms.
• Monitor AED and Narcan stations and report any hazards or inventory needs.
