Job summary

Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, MA is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician, Emergency for evening coverage. You’ll support ER/ICU patients, work with a skilled team, and grow your skills in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment.

The position offers four 9-hour evening shifts (5:00 PM–2:00 AM or 6:00 PM–3:00 AM) with a base of $24–$30/hour plus a $5/hour overnight differential. Benefits include CE, license reimbursements, and more.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting required.
• CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred.
• Strong anesthesia and patient monitoring skills.
• Emergency or critical care experience preferred.
• Confidence with catheter placement, laboratory work, and technical nursing skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency patients and support the intake process.
• Guide clients through their pet’s treatment and care plan.
• Collaborate with DVMs on diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery care.
• Place IV catheters and collect laboratory samples.
• Assist with radiographs, imaging, surgeries, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Deliver exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced emergency setting.
