Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Partner for the Med Surg department. The role includes night shifts from 7p to 7:30a, with rotating holidays and every-other weekend, delivering direct patient care under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include patient-centered care, accurate reporting, teamwork, and leveraging technology while meeting unit goals. Requires a high school diploma, six months of care experience, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Six months of recent experience in direct patient care.
• Successful completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to designated patients using a patient/family centered approach and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Employs observational skills and communicates findings, changes, or problems to the RN.
• Uses effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, visitors, staff and colleagues.
• Functions as a department team member to support unit and hospital goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates team building by participating in orientation of new staff.
• Performs validated technical skills based on unit practice.
• Utilizes technology to optimize care delivery.
• Completes quality control checks on designated unit equipment.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates patient needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
