Barrett Petfood in Brainerd, Minnesota, is hiring a Full Time Equipment Maintenance Technician to maintain and troubleshoot state-of-the-art machinery on site. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, ensuring product safety, quality, and uptime with a hands-on, customer-centric mindset.

The role emphasizes preventive and reactive maintenance across conveyors, grinders, mixers, mills, elevators, and packaging systems, with strong teamwork and safety practices in a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Comfort working with industrial machinery and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on key equipment.
• Daily checks of motors, bearings, chains and belts.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and repair quickly.
• Maintain facility systems including boilers, compressors, HVAC, and utilities.
• Assist with installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritize repairs.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow safety policies, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements.
• Work with electrical systems across 120V, 480V, and 24VDC.
