Endeavor Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II for Swedish Hospital in Chicago. This part-time role supports patient care by maintaining clean, safe environments across rooms and public areas, following strict infection-control protocols.

You'll work 20 hours weekly, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, 4pm–12:30am, and you’ll join a team focused on quality, teamwork, and continuous professional growth through our career pathways and benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Required.
• 1 Year experience in environmental services or housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Certified in Infection Control (CIC) - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) Preferred

Responsabilités

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of patient rooms, public areas, and staff workspaces following hospital cleaning protocols.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of infections.
• Maintain an organized and well-stocked cart with cleaning supplies.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines to minimize healthcare-associated infections.
• Follow proper isolation procedures when cleaning rooms of patients with contagious illnesses.
• Report any issues or potential infection control breaches to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
• Safely collecting, transporting, and disposing of medical waste, regular trash, and recyclable materials in accordance with hospital policies and state regulations.
• Monitoring and replacing biohazard and sharps containers as needed.
• Collecting and transporting soiled linens and distribute clean linens as per established procedures.
• Maintaining linen storage areas in a neat and organized manner.
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of environmental services equipment.
• Reporting any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
• Collaborating with other members of the Environmental Services team to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain a harmonious work environment.
• Assisting in training new Environmental Services Technicians as needed.
• Complying with all hospital safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE when necessary.
• Reporting any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
