Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Waterbury, CT. This role handles pre-registration, registration, and admission in the Emergency Department, with training to begin on the day shift for two weeks.

You will verify insurance, secure signatures for billing, collect deposits, and refer self-pay patients to financial counselors. The position includes evenings, weekends, and holidays with shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, college preferred.
• Medical terminology skills.
• Relevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions.
• Verify insurance requirements, obtain and understand insurance benefits.
• Secure signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functions.
• Collect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amounts.
• Refer self-pay patients to financial counselors; answers patient questions.
