Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 48 college credit hours or an associate degree or higher.
• Passing WorkKeys or equivalent.
• Ability to work with children and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of basic instructional strategies and classroom technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Help manage classroom behavior and reinforce school rules.
• Prepare, organize, and distribute instructional materials and resources.
• Operate educational equipment and software as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and field trips.
• Support students with special needs under supervision of a certified teacher (IEP/504 accommodations).
• Perform clerical tasks such as copying, filing, grading, and recording student information.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators, parents, and students while maintaining confidentiality (FERPA).
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
