Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH CTS EKG Associate for the Coronary Care Unit (Evenings). The role focuses on cardiac monitoring, hands-on patient care, infection control, and collaboration with the care team.

The position requires EKG/ECG training and Phlebotomy, along with a High School Diploma and BLS certification. A proactive, patient-centered approach will support high-quality outcomes in a dynamic CCU environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of training for electrocardiography (EKG/ECG) and Phlebotomy.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardiac monitoring on the adult population.
• Perform direct nursing care activity as delegated.
• Perform indirect nursing activities as determined by routine assignment as well as clinic activity.
• Maintain infection control measures.
• Obtain, record, and exchange information on behalf of the patient.
• Plan appropriately to meet clinic objectives and take initiatives where necessary.
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Communicate effectively with customers, visitors, patients, and staff.
