Job summary

CVS Health, through its Omnicare Air Support team, is seeking a pharmacist to provide 24/7 support for long-term care dispensing pharmacies. The role emphasizes accurate medication order review, clinical judgment, and compliance with DEA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in state of residence; ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
• Ability to work a regular onsite evening shift schedule with weekends/holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in clinical interpretation and identifying drug interactions and allergies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
• Review new and refill orders for safety and efficacy.
• Address drug-drug, drug-disease, and drug-allergy concerns.
• Document interventions per company policies and procedures.
• Provide accurate drug information to providers and facilities.
• Support DEA compliance and state regulations for controlled substances.
• Follow HIPAA and all federal/state regulations.
• Prioritize workload to meet service and turnaround expectations.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
