Job summary

Aviva Senior Living in Staunton, VA is seeking a full-time dining services aide for evening shifts (11:30am-8:30pm) with some weekend work. You will prepare, wash and store dishes; assist with serving meals; maintain clean dining areas and support residents with meal service.

You will interact with residents and families, uphold safety standards, and follow SERVE Safe guidelines. A high school diploma and 1-2 years of related experience are preferred; English communication required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related work experience preferred.
• SERVE Safe Certified or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to work well with elderly residents and families.
• Ability to handle food safely per facility policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and guests.
• Ensure high resident and guest satisfaction through quality service.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership.
• Prepare, wash and store dishes.
• Clean floors and work areas daily using appropriate tools.
• Use chemicals safely and follow handling guidelines.
• Assist with setting tables, serving meals, and bussing tables.
• Deliver and retrieve kitchen supplies from resident apartments.
• Operate equipment per manufacturer instructions and log temps.
• Assist dining staff with cleaning and general duties.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
