Job summary

Aviva Senior Living in Staunton, VA is seeking a full-time dining services aide for evening shifts (11:30am-8:30pm) with some weekend work. You will prepare, wash and store dishes; assist with serving meals; maintain clean dining areas and support residents with meal service.

You will interact with residents and families, uphold safety standards, and follow SERVE Safe guidelines. A high school diploma and 1-2 years of related experience are preferred; English communication required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related work experience preferred.
• SERVE Safe Certified or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to work well with elderly residents and families.
• Ability to handle food safely per facility policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Shift Details

We are currently searching for evening shifts 11:30am-8:30pm and will require some weekend work.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintaining a positive working relationship with all residents, resident families, and guests.
• Maintaining a high degree of resident, family, and guest satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
• Effectively and appropriately communicating with each co-worker and community leader.
• Prepare, wash and store dishes.
• Clean floors using dry mops, wet mops, brooms and floor cleaning equipment, disinfecting the work area daily.
• Utilize appropriate chemicals and chemical mixtures in all aspects of cleaning duties, handling them appropriately
• Assist with setting tables, serving meals, and bussing tables.
• Deliver and retrieve kitchen supplies from resident apartments.
• Operate commercial equipment according to manufacturer specification and complete temp logs.
• Assist dining associates in cleaning food service areas and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors and completing assigned cleaning duties.
• Regular and predictable attendance daily.

Qualifications, skills, and abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• One to two years of related work experience preferred
• SERVE Safe Certified (or ​​​​​​​​​ ​?)
• Ability to communicate in English
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.
