The Arc Mid Hudson is hiring a Direct Support Professional for Palmer Center in Kingston, NY. You will provide support and skills training to residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and in the community.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Saturday through Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Training will include required certifications and an orientation to the Palmer program.

Qualifications

• Experience with the geriatric population or in a nursing home is a plus.
• Able to teach arts and crafts and lead group activities.
• Willingness to work in a residential setting with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsabilités

• Provide support and skills training to residents in a residential setting and in the community.
• Encourage social engagement and participation in daily activities and therapies.
• Assist with daily living tasks and support recreation and transportation as needed.
• Support families and work as part of a compassionate care team.
