Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in Jackson, NJ is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with developmental disabilities.

You will work evening shifts in a residential group home, helping residents with daily living activities and transport to appointments. We offer a competitive wage of $20.75/hr, $22.75 on weekends, plus paid training, annual raises, mileage reimbursement and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear TB screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including medication, meals, personal hygiene, and transportation.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills to residents.
• Encourage community outings and document health and safety concerns accurately.
• Keep accurate records and report issues to supervisors.
