Job summary

DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide / Food Service Worker to support residents with nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming setting. Under supervision, you will assist with food prep, tray assembly, meal delivery, and general kitchen duties. The shift runs from 4:30 p.m.

to 7:45 p.m. No prior experience is required; 1–3 weeks of training is provided, and CPR certification is required to join the team.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write, speak, and follow oral and written English instructions.
Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Positive and respectful communication with residents, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Prepare minor food items, nourishments, and snacks.
Participate in tray-line setup, assembly, and meal delivery.
Assist residents with tray preparation following established procedures.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, carts, pots, pans, and utensils.
Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely (dish machine, blenders, ovens, etc.).
Sweep, mop, remove trash, and perform routine and special cleaning duties.
Note and record resident meal intakes.
Adhere to dress code and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Attend required meetings, in-services, and orientation.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
