The DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide / Food Service Worker to support nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Under direct supervision, you will assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, cleaning, and dish room responsibilities. Schedule is 6:15 a.m.

- 2:30 p.m., plus every other weekend and alternating holidays. No prior experience required; 1–3 weeks of training provided.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced team.
• Positive, respectful communication with residents and coworkers.
• Ability to perform repetitive, physically demanding work.
• No prior experience required; 1–3 weeks of training provided.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must complete ongoing in-service education and orientation.
• Physical exam and two TB tests within 10 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare minor food items, nourishments, and snacks.
• Tray-line setup, assembly, and meal delivery.
• Assist residents with tray preparation following procedures.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, carts, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely (dish machine, blenders, ovens).
• Sweep, mop, remove trash, and perform routine cleaning duties.
• Note and record resident meal intakes.
• Adhere to dress code and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
• Attend required meetings, in-services, and orientation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide / Food Service Worker to join our team and help ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

About the Role

Under direct supervision, you will assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, cleaning, and dish room responsibilities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of care and service for our residents.

Schedule

6:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., plus every other weekend and alternating holidays

Key Responsibilities

Pay

$15.72 per hour ($20.34 per hour if opting for "Limited Benefits")
