Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Omaha, NE is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dietary team in a skilled nursing facility. The role involves meal prep, serving, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring dietary needs are met per resident care plans.

You will work with dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to provide nutritious meals and friendly service. No prior healthcare experience required; on-the-job training is provided. This is a full-time and part-time position with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or healthcare is a plus but not required; on-the-job training provided.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, handle hot and cold items.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines.
• Food Service: Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner.
• Dietary Compliance: Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and record special dietary requirements.
• Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by following food safety protocols.
• Communication: Report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff or supervisor promptly.
• Inventory Management: Help with inventory control and report shortages or expired items.
• Resident Interaction: Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Team Collaboration: Work with dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service.
