Job summary

Ivy Tech Lake County in East Chicago, IN is seeking qualified Diesel Technicians or Diesel Mechanics to teach and mentor students as adjunct instructors. Adjuncts are contracted on an as-needed basis with evening schedules to fit availability.

Pay is $47.35 per classroom hour, and candidates must meet one of three routes: associate degree plus 3 years experience plus certification; or bachelor degree plus 2 years plus certification; or bachelor degree plus 5 years plus certification.

Qualifications

• Candidates must meet one of three routes to qualify as adjunct faculty.
• Experience in teaching or training is preferred.
• Ability to deliver syllabi and manage student records is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform instructional duties to teach and facilitate student learning.
• Provide syllabi and follow course requirements.
• Maintain attendance and grading records per policy.
• Submit information within established timelines.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time.
