Interstate Power Systems in Lincoln, NE is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic for second shift. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment, with emphasis on Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and Allison components.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years diesel technician/mechanic experience.
• Experience with Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, Cummins preferred.
• ASE certifications (T2-T8) preferred; manufacturer certs are a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, and Cummins-powered equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, brake inspections, tire service, and fluid checks.
• Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and identify needed repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic software and tools to resolve engine and transmission issues.
• Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team to prioritize repairs and maintain shop productivity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Stay current on evolving diesel technology and manufacturer updates.
