Job summary

Georg Fischer LLC in the United States seeks a Packaging and Crater I to build custom wooden crates, pallets, and protective packaging for piping systems and components. Schedule: Monday – Friday 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM.

You will measure, read blueprints, operate woodworking tools, and secure items for shipment, while inspecting quality and ensuring safe handling in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; experience in packaging/crating is a plus.
• Ability to read basic drawings, work orders, measurements, and packaging instructions.
• Experience with tape measures, squares, saws, drills, nail guns, and strapping tools is desirable.
• Knowledge of lumber, plywood, foam, and protective packaging materials helps when selecting materials.

Responsibilities

• Build crates, boxes, pallets, skids, and other containers per product dimensions.
• Measure products and packaging materials accurately using tape measures and rulers.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings, work orders, and packaging instructions.
• Operate hand and power tools (saws, drills, nail guns, hammers, etc.).
• Wrap and secure fragile or heavy products using cushioning materials.
• Inspect packaging for damage, fit, and secure fastening before shipment.
• Assist with positioning, staging, loading, and securing packaged products for shipment.
