Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia is seeking a Custodian for Monday–Friday, 5:00pm–9:00pm. The role involves cleaning in public and work spaces, including executive and command areas, at a DC facility.

The position requires adherence to agency policies, contract specs, and safety procedures. The job includes duties from restroom disinfection to floor care and special restoration tasks, with physical requirements listed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months custodial experience preferred.
• Custodial training desired.
• Candidates with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Agency policies and follow contract specifications.
• Comply with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Clean all assigned areas in accordance with contract specifications.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas.
• Descale showers, toilet bowls, and urinals.
• Keep restrooms supplied with required paper products and soap.
• Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning.
• Scrub tile and wash walls.
• Vacuum area rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors.
• Pull trash and recycling and place in proper receptacles.
• Dust surfaces, polish furniture and metal, clean glass tabletops.
• Clean and disinfect kitchenettes and break rooms.
• Clean and disinfect fitness centers, health centers, and child care centers.
• Keep tools and supplies clean and orderly.
